A Brief History of Graham's Shoe Service
Graham's Shoe Service first opened at our current location in Waynesboro in 1980. Originally owned by the Graham family, but managed by several different folks throughout the years.
In 1992, David Young walked into Graham's looking for work, and found a career. He learned the trade and took over the business, managing for several years before buying the shop.
In 1996, the Young family bought the shoe shop, and decided to keep the name as Graham's. Since then, the family business has continued to grow with more organization and advertisement.
In September of 2011, Yvonne Young, owner Dave's daughter, began an official apprenticeship in cobbling at Graham's. They were inducted into the Virginia Folklife Apprenticeship Showcase as Master Cobbler and Apprentice, click here to see the Virginia Folklife Foundation website. We are greatly honored to have been selected as the first ever cobblers to be recognized by this organization!
With a renewed focus on customer service, networking, appearance and most of all, eccentricity, we are becoming the "most eccentric shop in the USA" quite rapidly. Making history in the Shenandoah Valley, we continue to provide the best quality and service available in shoe and leather repair, while embracing the unconventional creative freedom of small business.
